The kanga named JJ belongs to Justin and Lindsey Richardson of After Hours Farm, and he was reunited with them soon after his foray into the Horry County outback.
“You know how we say ‘no two days in Horry County are the same’? Members of the jury, we present Exhibit K,” Horry County police said in a Facebook post.
Though native to Australia and New Guinea, kangaroos aren’t uncommon at American zoos, farms and other attractions. South Carolina is among three states that don’t require permitting for ownership.
JJ quickly hopped into the limelight after the Facebook post, racking up nearly 1,000 shares and more than 500 comments.
