Pedestrian killed in crash on I-55 in McLean County

SHIRLEY, Ill. (WMBD) — The McLean County Coroner Kathleen Yoder said a pedestrian is dead after a crash on I-55 on Thursday.

A 28-year-old man was killed after he was allegedly struck by a pick-up truck near mile marker 154 near Shirley, Yoder said.

Yoder said she responded to the scene at about 10:53 a.m. and the man was pronounced dead at 11:11 a.m. The name of the man is being withheld while his family is being informed.

The Illinois State Police, Dale Township Fire and Rescue, Bloomington Fire Department and McLean County Sheriff’s Office all responded to this incident.

This incident remains under investigation by the coroner’s office and the Illinois State Police.
