Alexandria man threatened to urinate on judge’s desk over DCS case, police say

ALEXANDRIA, Ind. — An Alexandria man allegedly called up an Indianapolis news station in a rage, threatening to show up to his DCS hearing not only armed with knives and a gun but claimed he’d “piss on the judge’s desk” if the judge didn’t rule in his favor.

Frank Grondin, 50, was arrested on Wednesday on charges of intimidation, threat to commit terrorism, a Level 5 felony; intimidation where victim is judge or baliff, a Level 5 felony; battery of a public safety officer, a Level 5 felony and two counts of resisting law enforcement, Level 6 felonies.

According to court documents, the Madison County Sheriff’s Department was contacted by an Indianapolis news station after an employee at the media outlet received a disturbing call from a number traced back to Grondin.

According to the employee, a man in a reportedly “manic state” called the news station claiming that DCS had “kidnapped” his child. Grondin said he had a hearing in Madison County Court on Wednesday and planned to bring knives, a baseball bat and a gun.

Grondin allegedly asked what the best way to “go out with a bang” would be while also promising to “piss on the judge’s desk” if the hearing didn’t go his way.

Alexandria police officers intercepted Grondin at his home on Birch Lane as he and his wife were preparing to leave for their court hearing. Grondin at first walked back into the house and refused to let the officers inside.

Grondin later exited the home with a baseball bat in hand. He refused to drop the weapon, according to police officers, but three officers were able to restrain and handcuff him. While attempting to restrain Grondin, one officer was allegedly pushed off the porch and fell onto a concrete driveway suffering cuts to his hands and legs.

Officers said Grondin screamed obscenities at his neighbors and kicked lawn decorations while being led to a police cruiser.

Grondin elected not to speak to investigators about his allegations. Charges were officially filed against him the following day.

If convicted of a Level 5 felony, Grondin faces up to six years in prison.
