ROCHELLE, Ill. (WTVO) — A 75-year-old pedestrian is dead after being struck by a train in Rochelle, according to police.
The Rochelle Police Department were called to the railroad track near Main Street and 2nd Avenue around 3:51 p.m. Thursday and located the victim’s body just west of the crossing.
An investigation determined the man had been struck by a westbound Union Pacific freight train.
No foul play is suspected, police said, adding that the incident is under investigation by the Rochelle Police Department, Union Pacific Police and Ogle County Coroner’s Office.
The victim has not yet been publicly identified.
