Philadelphia Police officer shot in bulletproof vest outside Friends Hospital

PHL17 is working to confirm reports of a Philadelphia Police Officer who was shot in his bulletproof vest outside the Friends Hospital in Northeast Philadelphia.

According to reports, the officer was shot in his vest when a man began shooting outside the hospital located at 4641 Roosevelt Boulevard.

Reports state the officer was not wounded but was taken to Temple University Hospital to rule out any injuries.

At this time Philadelphia Police have not provided additional information to PHL17.
