The Kaysville Fire Department said the operation started just after 9:30 a.m. after emergency crews received a call about a “tree-cutting accident.” First responders arrived to find the individual unresponsive and suspended 30 feet in the air by a harness.
“Given the complexity of the rescue, additional support was requested from Layton Fire and Farmington Fire. A University of Utah AirMed helicopter was also called to the scene,” Kaysville Fire Department said in
Rope rescue technicians set up a lowering system and attached it to the person before safely bringing them down to the ground. Kaysville Fire confirmed they were flown to a trauma center in critical condition.
Details on the tree-cutting accident or what injuries the individual suffered were not made publicly available. Officials also did not release any identifying information about the person.
