It was a frigid start to the day Monday morning following Sunday’s wet snow. Readings dipped into the upper teens in some of the normally colder inland locations.

Gusty southerly winds and abundant sunshine helped boost temperatures significantly Monday afternoon, surging back above normal and significantly warmer than the same time 24 hours earlier, Sunday afternoon.

Elsewhere, it was even warmer to west where summerlike warmth bathed sections of the Plains, where highs were as much as 25-30 degrees above normal.

Despite Sunday’s snowfall, seasonal tallies at both major airports continue to be significantly below normal.
