Kentucky State Police investigating officer-involved shooting

LEWIS COUNTY, KY (WOWK) – Kentucky State Police are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Lewis County.

Troopers say that around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office called for the KSP Critical Incident Response Team following a call of shots fired that had happened just after 9 p.m. in the area of KY 57 and Little Cabin Creek Road.

According to KSP, LCSO Sheriff Johnny Bivens, his deputies and Lewis County EMS responded to the scene. Then around 10:30 p.m., shots were fired at the scene.

KSP says there were injuries, but due to the investigation, they have not released any further information, including if any officers were injured.

KSP says that because of the investigation, they cannot release further information until they have finished interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence for the case.
