Residents told WJTV 12 News that they have never seen devastation like this. Cleanup crews are working to clean up debris across the area. They’re removing fallen trees, downed power lines and what’s left of homes and buildings.
The storm hit hardest near Taylorsville High School, where powerful winds tore trees from the ground and flung structures dozens of feet away.
Taylorsville leaders said power has been restored to most of the town, but the road to recovery will be a long one.
Relief supplies, including food and water, are available at the fire station for those in need.
