TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — Five people were arrested after a drug investigation in the Hammond and Tickfaw areas of Tangipahoa Parish.
The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office reported that detectives began investigating an alleged drug operation on Whiskey Lane in Tickfaw and Mitchell Drive in Hammond after receiving tips from the public last month.
In a search of both areas on Friday, March 14, TPSO detectives allegedly recovered meth, Mojo, cocaine and weapons.
Following the investigation, TPSO deputies said 48-year-old Alvin Cotton, 64-year-old Hayes Cotton, 46-year-old Doniel Gooden, 43-year-old Rene Alvarado and 50-year-old Kimberly Lizana were arrested.
Alvin Cotton faces charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, Mojo, methamphetamines and heroin, possession of a firearm and drug paraphernalia.
Lizana faces charges of possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
Hayes Cotton, Gooden and Alvarado “were taken into custody on existing warrants related to drug activity.”
