Juvenile wounded following Kenner shooting

KENNER, La. (WGNO) — Officers with the Kenner Police Department are investigating a shooting that left a juvenile wounded on Saturday, March 15.

KPD officials said officers responded to the 4300 block of Florida Avenue around 4 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire near Florida Avenue and Joe Yenni Boulevard.

At the scene, Kenner police said they found a juvenile male with two gunshot wounds. He was taken to a hospital and was last reported to be in stable condition.

The KPD reported that another juvenile was taken into custody in connection with the case.

According to police, “The individual taken into custody later confessed on scene to the shooting.”
