According to Ivey, at least two Alabamians were killed in the severe storm outbreak. You can read the full statement released by Ivey below.
“Yesterday’s severe weather impacted most of Alabama. Unfortunately, we have learned of the loss of at least two of our fellow Alabamians — one life in Plantersville and one in Winterboro. We have reports of damage in 52 of our 67 counties. Our damage assessment continues.
The sun has risen in Alabama, though. We pray for those lives we lost, as well as those who were injured. And we pray for our first responders, emergency management officials and linemen who are doing incredible work on the ground right now.”

The Associated Press released a new number around 12:12 p.m., stating that the Alabama death toll climbed to three.
According to AP, “At least three people were killed in central Alabama when multiple tornados swept across the state. Among those killed was an 82-year-old woman who was in a manufactured home that was destroyed by a twister, Dallas County Sheriff Michael L. Granthum said Sunday.”
The National Weather Service of Birmingham confirmed that survey teams found damage consistent with at least an EF-2 tornado with winds of 120 mph in the Winterboro area of Talladega County.
For north Alabama, the National Weather Service is scheduled to conduct a storm survey for southeastern Cullman County on Monday. No further surveys for the North Alabama area will be conducted at this time.
