On Feb. 20, around 8 p.m., officers were called to the 2800 block of Sandy Hollow Road for a two-vehicle crash. Authorities found the injured victim in his car at the intersection of Sandy Hollow and Hampton Ridge Drive.
The victim was taken to OSF St. Anthony for multiple serious injuries.
Officials found the other vehicle unoccupied in the Sandy Hollow Golf Course greens. Alston was determined to be the owner of the vehicle.
Police found Alston two days later after reporting his vehicle was stolen. When Authorities asked Alston about the crash he asked for a lawyer, according to court documents.
The suspect was identified in a photo lineup on March 6th.
Alston was later taken into custody on March 13, around 3:30 p.m., after Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies saw him and Isizria Taylor, 37, delivering cocaine.
Alston is charged with crash causing injury and manufacturing and delivering cocaine.
Taylor is charged with manufacturing and delivering cocaine.
