Police: Rockford woman flees scene of crash causing serious injury

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Miranda Weeks, 20, for crashing into a woman’s car, causing the victim serious injuries, according to court records.

On April 14, around 11 p.m., officers were called to 11th Street and Sandy Hollow Road for reports of a vehicle crash causing injury.

The victim was experiencing severe neck pain and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Weeks was found by the authorities close by and told them she ran away because she was scared.

The suspect admitted to officials that she had crashed into the woman’s car and that she had been smoking cannabis.

Weeks is charged with a crash causing injury and three counts of driving under the influence.
