The warning will be in effect from Friday morning through late Saturday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The region is expected to see roughly 1 to 2 feet of snow, and experts say travelers should expect potentially hazardous conditions.
Lower elevations in the region will see periodic showers through Saturday night with breezy to gusty winds. However, thunderstorms will remain possible through 7 p.m. on Thursday night.
“Northwest Oregon and southwest Washington (are) looking at increasing chances of non-severe thunderstorms this afternoon, which means a brief downpour along with lightning and gusty winds are all possible with these storms. We could also see small hail or graupel,” Jamie Hudson, a KOIN 6 weather person, said. “The threat of an isolated thunderstorms will significantly decrease after 7 p.m. tonight.”
