Pedestrian killed in Pearl River County crash

PEARL RIVER COUNTY, Miss. (WGNO) — The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating a crash that left a pedestrian dead in Pearl River County on Sunday, March 9.

The MHP reported the crash happened on Highway 11 around 3:45 a.m.

MHP officials said an initial investigation shows that a Toyota was driving north on Highway 11 while 35-year-old Joshua Luke was walking in the southbound lane of Highway 11.

The Toyota then reportedly hit Luke.

Luke was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

The investigation is ongoing, and the MHP did not provide additional information.
