Man stabbed on CTA train on Near South Side: CPD

CHICAGO — A 31-year-old man was stabbed on a CTA train on the Near South Side.

The stabbing happened around 12:45 a.m. Friday on the 100 block of West Cermak Road.

Police said the man was riding a train when another man approached the victim, then took out a sharp object and cut him.

The victim sustained an injury to the arm and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in fair condition.

No other injuries were reported.

According to police, the offender was located a short time later and placed into custody. Charges are pending.
