“In the Northeast part of the country we’ve had one of the worst and most severe seasons that we’ve had in over a decade. Mostly, we’ve seen a lot of increases in flu cases and flu related deaths unfortunately in our children population, so it’s been pretty rough,” says Lowery.

So, what can we do to treat and prevent? Lowery says, “there are a few products that we do recommend over the counter, but the biggest thing is a lot of people wait to take these products when they’re having allergies or they’re suffering from the symptoms for a few days, these products actually work better when you take them preventatively, so we highly recommend you start them two to four weeks before the season, which would be right now.”
