By rssfeeds-admin Shapiro says he wants to “recruit the most talented workers in the country” and noted that amid federal layoffs, workers with experience could be looking for new opportunities. As part of his announcement, Shapiro signed an executive order for the Office of Administration to consider federal work experience at the same level as state work experience.
The announcement was made at the Commonwealth Job Fair at the Farm Show Complex. The Governor encouraged federal workers and those with experience to visit PA.Gov/FedWorkers.
“We want you on our team,” Shapiro said, adding he believed the move was “commonsense.”
Jobs include accountants, nurse aids, custodial workers, and PennDOT CDL operators.

“If you have federal government experience, your skills may align with various state roles,” the webpage says.
About 81,800 people work for Pennsylvania, and there are hundreds of job openings available. Shapiro noted that the jobs that are available are already funded and that he’s not seeking to expand the state government.
Representatives Dave Madsen (D-Dauphin), Carol Hill-Evans (D-York), and Justin Fleming (D-Dauphin) also pushed for civil service law reform. during Wednesday’s event.
