Sunny and cooler today as Acadiana stays windy

Better weather returns to Acadiana this Ash Wednesday. Cooler and sunny conditions will be noticeable throughout the day. Temperatures are in the lower 50s this morning followed by highs reaching the mid to upper 60s. Winds won’t be as extreme as Mardi Gras but the area stays windy with northerly winds gusting 20 to 35 mph at times. Winds begin to relax tonight as we turn colder with lows in the upper 30s.

The weather pattern remains quiet until the weekend. Scattered showers and storms are looking likely on Saturday and there could be another low risk for severe weather.
