Jackson shooting leaves two injured, investigation underway

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Two people were injured during a shooting in Jackson, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 700 block of McClure Road around 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 4.

Detective Tommie Brown said the son of the 28-year-old resident went outside to walk his dog. The resident followed his son and noticed four individuals inside his vehicle.

Brown said gunfire was exchanged between the resident and the suspects. The resident was shot once and is expected to be okay.

According to Brown, an individual later arrived at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The individual is believed to be one of the suspects.

No arrests have been made as of Wednesday, March 5. The investigation is ongoing.
