Police arrest 18-year-old found with marijuana, semi-automatic rifle at Perry Meridian High School

INDIANAPOLIS — An 18-year-old was arrested at Perry Meridian High School after allegedly being found with marijuana, a firearm and ammunition this week.

According to a police report obtained by FOX59/CBS4 Friday night, officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were called around 12:28 p.m. on Thursday to 401 W. Meridian School Road to conduct a search.

The report indicates that police seized “raw” marijuana, six live rounds of 9mm ammunition and a semi-automatic rifle. The report does not confirm the exact quantity of marijuana that police recovered from the individual.

The 18-year-old was arrested and preliminarily charged with Dealing in Marijuana (Level 6 Felony), Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun on a School Bus (Level 5 Felony) and Firearm Possession on School Property (Level 6 Felony), according to the police report.

FOX59/CBS4 is working to determine if the arrested individual is a student at Perry Meridian High School.
