Draper Police respond to ‘serious crash’ involving motorcyclist on South State St.

DRAPER, Utah (ABC4) — A serious crash involving a motorcyclist occurred on South State Street in Draper Friday afternoon, according to Draper Police.

Police responded to the crash at around 1:15 p.m. on Feb. 28. The accident was located at the 11800 South State Street intersection.

Northbound traffic was diverted east during cleanup, but the area has since been cleared and normal traffic conditions have resumed.

The motorcycle rider was taken to the hospital in serious condition after the crash. The rider is expected to recover, police said.

The other driver involved reportedly remained at the scene and cooperated fully with police.

“A good reminder to all that as the weather gets better, motorcyclists we be out more,” Lt. Mike Elkins, Draper Police, stated. “If you’re a rider, wear your helmet and protective gear, slow down and be extra cautious. If you’re a driver, please also slow down and be vigilant, motorcycles can be harder to see.”
