By rssfeeds-admin PIKEVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — Pike County students will finally be able to return to the classroom on March 10.
Pike County students haven’t been in class since Feb. 14 due to the extreme flooding in the county.
“We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate these changes. We know the past weeks have been difficult for everyone and we appreciate your cooperation during this time,” Pike County School District wrote in a letter to families.
The school districts said school days will be extended by 30 minutes and spring break will be eliminated to make up for missed time.
This will allow the school year to end on May 30. Those plans could change due to further weather and legislation moving through Frankfort.
“We are grateful for your continued support and look forward to seeing our students back in the classroom soon!” Superintendent of Pike County Schools Freddie Bowling wrote.
