Vehicle ends up upside down in early morning crash

INDIANAPOLIS – A vehicle ended up upside down after an early morning crash.

Police were dispatched just before 5:10 a.m. Wednesday to the area near Michigan Road and 51st Street, where they found an inverted vehicle.

Indianapolis Metropolitan police officers at the scene described it as a property damage crash.

Video of the aftermath showed the vehicle sustained significant front-end damage. The airbag also deployed.

A man was taken into custody near the scene, although officers didn’t elaborate on any preliminary charges or say how he was related to the incident.

A tow truck hauled the SUV away. The crash remains under investigation.
