According to Indiana State Police, first responders were called to mile marker 76 of I-65 northbound around 10:30 p.m. to investigate a single-vehicle crash. When police arrived at the scene, they found a 2025 Nissan Rogue that had been crashed approximately 100 feet off of the east side of I-65.
Upon further investigation of the crash scene, police located 35-year-old Amanda Seguin of Indianapolis. According to ISP, Seguin sustained severe injuries in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.
State police believe Seguin drove off of I-65 northbound for an unknown reason before the crash happened. Once her vehicle left the roadway, she lost control of it and struck a concrete barrier. After hitting the barrier, Seguin’s vehicle continued to roll down a nearby embankment. While the vehicle was rolling down the embankment, Seguin was ejected from it.
ISP indicated that Seguin was not properly restrained during the the crash. Investigators also reported that drugs or alcohol may have been factors that contributed to the crash.
ISP’s investigation of the crash is still ongoing, and Seguin’s family has been notified of her death.
State police received assistance at the crash scene from the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office, Columbus Police Department, Taylorsville Fire Department, German Township Fire Department, Columbus Regional EMS, Bartholomew County Coroner’s Office and 31 Wrecker Service.
