SHENANDOAH – A Shenandoah man is in Schuylkill County prison after police say he vandalized someone’s car and stabbed the owner when confronted.
Christian Jose Maldonado Del Valle, 24, of West Arlington Street, was charged Saturday for the incident on South Chestnut Street.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Shenandoah Police Patrolmen Leo Luciani and Mark Hysock, officers were called to a home in the unit block of South Chestnut Street for a stabbing around midday Saturday.
Patrolman Marvin Livergood found a man suffering from a stab wound to the shoulder and administered first aid until Shenandoah Ambulance arrived.
Officers interviewed the victim and a witness and gathered video surveillance from the neighborhood.
Maldonado Del Valle, police said, called the victim and threatened to damage his vehicle. A few minutes later, the suspect made good and was outside calling the victim out and kicking the doors of the vehicle.
The victim came out with a baseball bat to stop Maldonado Del Valle and a scuffle ensued. Maldonado Del Valle disarmed the victim and stabbed him in the back, forcing the victim to retreat, police said.
Maldonado Del Valle was arrested and charged with felony aggravated assault, simple assault, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct.
He was arraigned Saturday and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $150,000 bail.
A preliminary hearing is set for March 6.
