The Alexandria Mardi Gras Association, founded in 1994, has grown from just ten floats in its early years to more than 23 participating Krewes. Today, the Krewe Parade draws an estimated 150,000 attendees, while the Children’s Parade brings in around 45,000 spectators.
In addition to Alexandria’s festivities, nearby Leesville will host its own Mardi Gras parade on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 2 p.m. along Third Street in Downtown Leesville.
With colorful floats, lively music, and a festive atmosphere, this year’s Mardi Gras celebrations promise excitement for all ages.
