Heading to a Metairie Mardi Gras parade? Here is this year’s route

METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — It’s Mardi Gras time in Metairie!

As residents wait in line for their favorite king cake and start stocking up on their favorite parade route snacks, they are also making plans to attend parades.

While some may enjoy heading into New Orleans to catch popular parades like Endymion and Bacchus, others may be looking forward to the Metairie parades.

With a little bit more than one week to the big day, here are the remaining parades rolling in Metairie:

• Krewe of Symphony will roll on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 6:30 p.m.
• Krewe of Atlas will roll on Thursday, Feb. 27, and follow Krewe of Symphony
• Krewe of Athena will roll on Sunday, March 2, at 5:30 p.m.
• Krewe of Centurions will roll on Monday, March 3, at 6 p.m.
• Krewe of Kings will roll on Monday, March 3, and follow Krewe of Centurions
• Krewe of Argus will roll on Tuesday, March 4, at 11 a.m.
• Elks Krewe of Jeffersonians will roll on Tuesday, March 4, and follow Krewe of Argus

Jefferson Parish officials said all Metairie parades will follow the same route this year.

According to the Jefferson Parish website, each parade will follow a 4.87-mile route heading east on Veterans Boulevard. The parades are set to start on Veterans Boulevard near the Clearview City Center, head down Veterans Boulevard to Severn Avenue, make a U-turn at 18th Street and end on Veterans Boulevard at Martin Behrman Drive.
