2 charged after 14-year-old dies in McCreary County

WHITLEY CITY, Ky. (FOX 56) — Two people were arrested Monday in connection with the death of a McCreary County teenager.

According to arrest citations, deputies with the McCreary County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 7700 block of West Highway 92 to reports of an unresponsive 14-year-old boy not breathing.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

The child was transported to the Wayne County Hospital, where he later died.

The reporting officer reported seeing serious injuries on the child and wrote that he spoke to 37-year-old Billie Bolin and 44-year-old Jeremy Ridner, both from Stearns, who allegedly admitted to knowing about the injuries and did not seek medical attention.

The autopsy results are pending.

LATEST KENTUCKY LISTS AND RANKINGS:

Bolin and Ridner were arrested and lodged in the Knox County Detention Center charged with first-degree criminal abuse.

Both are scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
