Suspected DUI driver hits pedestrian in Visalia
VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A pedestrian was left in critical condition after being struck by a suspected DUI driver early Saturday morning, Visalia police say.

Just before 3:15 a.m. Officers were dispatched to a report of a collision at the intersection of Divisadero and Houston Avenues.

They say they arrived to find that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Houston Avenue. After colliding with the pedestrian, the vehicle went on to crash into a light pole nearby.

Investigators say the driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital and is listed in critical condition.
