Emergency responders were dispatched around 6:10 a.m. to the 4700 block of West Morris Street.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said the crash involved a pair of vehicles. One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene.
In an update from IMPD, officials said that when officers arrived at the scene, they located a white Chevrolet truck off of a paved lot. The driver of the truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
In a preliminary investigation, the update read that the Chevrolet truck was reportedly in a business parking lot driving southbound. The truck then reportedly struck a parked, unoccupied, dump truck. This caused the Chevrolet to lose control and leave the paved lot.
IMPD’s fatal crash investigation team is continuing to investigate the crash. The Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the manner and cause of death.
The area of W Morris Street and Vandalia Avenue was closed for several hours because of the crash. The area is now reopened.
