Lexington man accused of stalking teen in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Lexington man was arrested on Feb. 15 after he allegedly sent inappropriate texts to a 17-year-old in Montgomery County.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook that on Feb. 15, the office’s Criminal Investigation Division arrested Wani Kujjo, 28, of Lexington in response to a complaint that he allegedly sent inappropriate text messages to a juvenile.

Court documents show that just after 3 p.m. on Dec. 29, 2024, Kujjo sent text messages to a juvenile who had a protective order against him. In the texts, Kujjo allegedly threatened sexual contact and asked the teen to be his partner.

According to an arrest citation, the issue between Kujjo and the teen has been ongoing.

Deputies said Kujjo tried to send texts to the 17-year-old from the Fayette County Detention Center on Feb. 10.

In response to a complaint about Jujjo sending inappropriate texts to the teen, detectives were reportedly able to track Kujjo’s IP address and track it to Lexington, where he was allegedly observed on video.

LATEST KENTUCKY NEWS:

Kujjo was lodged in the Montgomery County Regional Jail on a $25,000 bond. He was charged with first-degree stalking and procurement or promotional use of a minor by electronic means.

An investigation into the alleged stalking remains ongoing.
