According to LPD, officers were called to the 9300 block of Otis Avenue to investigate a domestic disturbance involving a male and a female. As they began to make their way to the scene, police learned the male used a gun to force the female into a vehicle while she was on the phone with 911 dispatchers.

LPD reported that the chase ended when the male crashed the car he was driving near the intersection of 46th Street and Emerson Avenue. Neither the male nor the female were injured in the crash.
Police confirmed the male was arrested after the chase. He has been preliminarily charged with battery, domestic battery, criminal confinement, kidnapping and reckless driving.
LPD indicated that its officers recovered a firearm from the vehicle the male used during the chase.
Lawrence police have not yet specified the exact ages of the male and female involved in the chase. LPD has not released the name of the suspect its officers arrested.
