Woman killed, 2 critically injured in St. Charles crash

ST. CHARLES, Ill. — A woman is dead and two others are in critical condition after a crash in the western suburbs on Friday morning.

Officers said the crash unfolded just after 9 a.m. in the 4400 block of Lincoln Highway in St. Charles.

Crews arrived on the scene and found two vehicles, a 2015 black GMC with heavy front-end damage that was in the roadway and a 2024 white Kia that was overturned on the side of the road.

The first vehicle had three passengers, a 30-year-old man, a 30-year-old woman and an infant child. Officers said the woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but both passengers were unhurt in the crash.

Two people, a 49-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were inside the second vehicle, which had overturned. Officers said the woman had been ejected from the vehicle and was later pronounced dead, the man had to be extricated from the car and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the crash and authorities said an investigation is now underway.
