Teen girl among 3 injured in early-morning drive-by shooting on Southwest Side

CHICAGO — Three people, including a teen girl, were hospitalized after a drive-by shooting on the city’s Southwest Side early Saturday morning.

Chicago police said the shooting unfolded just after 4 a.m. in a parking lot in the 4500 block of South Cicero Avenue in Garfield Ridge.

According to police, the three victims, a 17-year-old girl, a 21-year-old man and a 35-year-old man, were standing in the parking lot when an SUV and a sedan approached and people inside the vehicle opened fire.

Officers said the 35-year-old man suffered several gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The 21-year-old man was hit once in the leg and the 17-year-old girl was shot in the leg and foot. They were both taken to the hospital in good condition.

Currently, it is unclear what led to the shooting and officers said no arrests have been made.
