House fire leaves a woman injured in Rockford

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Fire responded to a blaze that left one woman injured on Thursday.

Around 6 p.m., firefighters went to the 1900 block of West Pearl Avenue for the fire. Responders were met with fire and smoke coming from a residence.

Rockford Fire found one victim at the house who was injured and helped her to a nearby medical unit and taken to a local hospital.

26 Firefighters put out the blaze in under 10 minutes.

Damages to the home are estimated at $60,000.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
