CHARENTON, La. (KLFY) — The St. Mary Parish Water & Sewer Commission #4 has issued a boil advisory for the Chitimacha Reservation, in Charenton, due to problems with their water supply system caused by a broken hydrant.
They are recommending that all residents of Chitimacha Reservation disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, rinsing of food or using it for food preparation until rescinded by the St. Mary Parish Water & Sewer Commission.
The St. Mary Parish Water & Sewer Commission will rescind the boil advisory upon notification from the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals.
