Deputies say around 4 a.m. Saturday, they responded to a home near Jackson and Yale Avenues where a woman who lived there reported that 40-year-old Estevan Miguel Marez fired a gun at her but missed.
Investigators learned that everyone safely evacuated but the gunman remained inside. The sheriff’s Crisis Negotiation Team worked to get Marez to surrender but was unsuccessful in contacting him.
The sheriff’s SWAT Team was deployed to use its tools and tactics to safely take Marez into custody. Deputies report after two hours, SWAT members decided to go inside the home but Marez was not there.
Deputies cleared the scene around 1:30 p.m. in search of Marez.
Anyone with any information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office at 559-600-3111.
