METAIRIE, La. (WGNO) — Carnival season is underway in the Greater New Orleans area, which means Jefferson Parish is gearing up for Family Gras.

The free, three-day event is returning to Metairie this year on Feb. 21, Feb. 22 and Feb. 23, with live music and food.

Family Gras goers can expect performances from a variety of artists, including Zebra, Ambrosia, Debbie Gibson, Amanda Shaw and more.

With the fun-filled festival making its way across the street from Lakeside Mall in Metairie at Mardi Gras Plaza, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced a series of road closures in anticipation.
