Wabash man thrown from car, flown to hospital after crash

MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A Wabash man was thrown from his car Thursday after it rear-ended a pickup truck, according to Indiana State Police.

Police said in a release the Wabash man was driving an Audi on US 31 near Sease Drive in Miami County. Investigators determined the Audi rear-ended a Ram, causing the car to veer off the road and flip multiple times before stopping.

The driver of the car was flown to a hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the pickup truck only had minor injuries, according to the release.

Police do not currently suspect alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash; however, police believe speed led to the crash. The investigation also revealed neither driver was wearing a seatbelt, according to the release.
