We’ll start out warm and humid for this morning with lows in the lower 70s. Highs in the lower 80s this afternoon with gusty south winds. Winds could be sustained in the 15-25 mph range with gusts of 30-35 mph. Storms will roll through the area later tonight between 8pm-midnight with a severe weather threat in the mix. The atmosphere features high levels of wind shear and adequate levels of instability, which will lead to storms that could contain damaging winds and rotation. A level two risk of severe weather across Acadiana, but a level three risk further to the north across central Louisiana and into southwestern Mississippi. A strong cold front moves through tonight, dropping temperatures rapidly. Highs tomorrow in the upper 50s, which is some 20 degrees colder than what we’re expecting today. Lows Monday morning in the mid-30s!

Our next system moves through Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, giving us our next rain chance, followed by a blast of Arctic air. Temperatures falling through the 40s Wednesday afternoon once the Arctic air moves past our longitude. Morning starts could be in the mid-20s Thursday and Friday with highs only getting into the mid-40s both days!
