NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — Officers with the New Orleans Police Department have arrested a second man in connection with a fatal shooting that happened in the St. Roch neighborhood in January.
On Jan. 7, the NOPD reported that 38-year-old Geron Elzie was fatally shot at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue and North Galvez Street around noon.
Following an investigation, NOPD detectives said they identified 28-year-old Marvin Banks and 25-year-old Sterling Pepe as suspects in the investigation.
On Jan. 11, NOPD officers arrested Banks.
On Thursday, Feb. 13, Pepe was arrested.
Both face charges of second-degree murder.
