NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man was arrested on Wednesday, April 23, in connection to two homicides that happened in New Orleans on July 31, 2024.
According to the New Orleans Police Department, the homicides occurred in the 8300 block of South Interstate-10 Service Road and the 3700 block of Texas Drive. Investigation later showed the two incidents to be connected.
On Aug. 2, 2024, the victims, identified as 42-year-old Christopher Cooke and 38-year-old Reginald Ware, were determined to have died from gunshot wounds.
Later, 46-year-old Jamal Washington was determined to be a suspect in the investigation. He was interviewed and arrested on Wednesday and has been booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on one count each of second-degree murder for the two incidents.
