Fresno County DA strengthens transparency with residents

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The Fresno County District Attorney has launched a new redesigned website in an effort to improve communication and transparency with residents of Fresno County.

Taylor Long with the District Attorney’s Office said the new site is streamlined and users can find everything from contact details, career opportunities and case information.

“It’s something we’re extremely proud of,” said Long. “Our team that has been a part of it, has been just instrumental in ensuring that we kind of get it to the place we want it to be.”

Long said the website had been in the works for two years.

“So, I think the first thing you would notice is if you look at what it was before to now,” she said.  “It just is a much more elevated, polished, professional looking website and it has our colors, it has our logo displayed everywhere.”

The new site will also provide access to former press release information.

“All of our press releases from 2025 are up, as well as any of the archived press releases from going as far back until 2015, when Lisa Smittcamp first became sworn in as the DA,” she said.

As for the old website, Long said it no longer exists.

“So if you go to the county’s page and go to the department tab and click on ‘District Attorney,’ it’ll automatically redirect the user to our new website,” she said.

The goal in all this? Long said it is to continue educating the public about important issues affecting the county and maintaining transparency.

“As you know, the DA is very passionate about fentanyl and fentanyl education,” she said. “We can provide additional resources, connect you to get Narcan and whether it’s on your campus or other things like that.”

Anyone seeking the website can go to FresnoDA.org. The Office of the District Attorney can be reached at 559-600-6100.
