BROWNWOOD, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A Brownwood father accused of killing his daughter’s husband during a family disturbance has been indicted.
Joe Garner Caine was indicted on one count of Murder earlier this month in connection to the death of Tony Dewayne Roberts, 42.
The Brownwood Police Department says officers were called to a home on the 2400 block of Avenue B one morning in October 2024 after a resident reported her her husband, Roberts, had just been stabbed by her father, Caine.
This caller said she was involved in an argument with her sisters, which Roberts tried to break up, prompting Caine to confront him out side and stab him, according to police.
Roberts was rushed to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
Caine now remains held in the Brown County Jail on a $250,000 bond.
