REXBURG — Police have released the cause of death for an elderly man who went missing and was found in Rexburg last month.

Rexburg Police Department Assistant Chief Gary Hagen told EastIdahoNews.com that the Madison County Coroner’s Office has ruled Herlindo Aguilar-Salgodo died due to “exposure to excessive natural cold-hypothermia.”
Hagen added that he was found by officers in a field a short distance from his home in Rexburg on Dec. 9.
The police department had been looking for Aguilar-Salgodo last month. He was last seen on Nov. 30 in Rexburg, walking on North 2nd East by McDonald’s, police said. He was in his 90s.
