Dog rescued from south Abilene house fire; $25K in damages reported

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A home in south Abilene caught on fire Tuesday afternoon, causing $25,000 in damages.

At 4:18 p.m. on December 17, emergency crews responded to the 2800 block of Post Oak Road. Upon arrival, they observed smoke coming from the front window of the house. The crews entered the home and quickly extinguished the flames.

Meanwhile, another crew entered the house to conduct a search and found a dog in the back bedroom. After receiving medical attention, the dog started walking around several minutes later.

No other injuries were reported, and the cause is still under investigation. Damages are estimated to be about $25,000.
