8 y.o. seeks identity of comforting ‘guardian angel’ after Kemp pin-in crash

IOWA PARK (KFDX/KJTL) — An Iowa Park family is searching for someone they’re calling an angel, and they’re asking anyone with any information to step forward.

“I wish I [knew] her name, but it’s hard to give details,” 8-year-old Ally Williams said.

On November 27, Ally was the victim of a violent one-vehicle crash when a mystery woman sat with and soothed her until paramedics arrived.

“She came up and [held] my hand, and she was, like, talking about school and stuff,” the 8-year-old said. “She said, ‘If you ask nicely enough, you could get a lot of popsicles from the nurse,’ and I did.”

Ally broke her femur, tibia and fibula in the pin-in, something the alleged angel could relate to.

“She had dark hair. It was, like, a dark brown,” Ally described. “She said she broke her back when she was in the military.”

Her grandmother, Theresa Williams, wasn’t involved in the crash but was touched by the stranger’s tenderness.

“Hearing her story, that somebody had held her hand and was there with her,” Theresa said, “You know, it was just, like, some guardian angel sat down and was there doing something I couldn’t do for her.”

“Every time I looked away, she was, like, ‘Hey, hey, look right here. It’s gonna be okay,’” Ally said.

The family is now searching high and low for Ally’s angel.

“It was so appreciated,” Theresa said. “We just want to thank this person in person and tell her she was definitely a blessing and that we’re just so grateful.”

And Ally’s message for the mystery woman?

“I just want to say to her, ‘Thank you for making me forget about my leg hurting’ because I was screaming,” she said with a smile.

Theresa said Ally is about halfway done with her leg cast and added that she admires her granddaughter’s resilience.

If you are or have any idea who this dark-haired woman was, please email our newsroom at news@kfdx.com, and we will connect you to the family.
