BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Police went to Iowa to arrest a man accused of molesting a 4-year-old girl over the course of several months in Bloomington.

Michael A. Morgan, 37, is charged with child molesting, a level 1 felony carrying between 20 and 40 years in prison.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Morgan sexually assaulted the girl from February 2025 through May 2025.

Investigators first learned about the allegations on June 1, when the girl’s mother contacted Bloomington police about the abuse.

During a forensic interview, the little girl confirmed the abuse and said it happened multiple times when Morgan watched her. The girl also said Morgan took pictures of her, according to court documents.

According to the 4-year-old, Morgan told her, “This is just between you and me” and said to keep it a secret. He would provide her with candy and told her she wouldn’t get any more candy if she told anyone what happened.

Morgan was in Bloomington from February through May, when he left to go home to Iowa. According to the affidavit, investigators obtained a search warrant for electronic devices he left behind in Indiana as well as his social media accounts.

They found a “large amount” of pornographic images and videos associated with his accounts, along with websites featuring sexual content.

Police arrested Morgan in Iowa. He is currently being held in the Monroe County Jail. According to court records, he had an initial hearing on Thursday.
